Boundless Impact Research & Analytics Features Big Blue Technologies on Webinar Series

Jan. 14, 2025Big Blue Technologies was invited to present alongside Boundless Impact Research & Analytics results from an ISO-compliant lifecycle analysis on a magnesium metal production process.

Lifecycle analyses are critical for industrial processes to account for carbon emissions and other environmental factors using an internationally standardized evaluation and calculation process. The results include contributions from Scope 1-3 factors which include direct emissions, indirect emissions from power usage, and indirect emissions from raw material inputs and transportation.

The key results from the lifecycle analysis reveal a nominal, or base-case, greenhouse gas emissions factor of 3.5 kgCO 2eq per kilogram of magnesium metal produced. The results include credits from the utilization of calcium aluminate. Using renewable power as the energy source across the cradle-to-gate study, Big Blue Technologies can achieve 0.5 kgCO 2eq per kilogram of magnesium metal produced.
